Mistyka has more than 10 years of experience working in hospital and community settings, and has advanced skills in instrumental swallowing assessments in x-ray and nasoendoscopy. Mistyka completed a Ph.D. in evaluating new swallowing assessment technology and now coordinates dysphagia research projects as part of the Flinders Health and Medical Research Institute Swallowing Research Group. Mistyka is passionate about helping the client and their carer or family to understand and manage the complexities of their swallowing problem.
